Welcome to Our Website!
CFM was formed by local community members, Bill and Liz Gieg, to give area residents a chance to serve the peoples of the third world countries without all the "administrative" costs associated with other relief organization. This is accomplished by the volunteering of time and energy to organize, recruit the team and arrange for all their travel needs. In addition, all the team members are from the Christian community which allows for relationship building within and between the churches or our city. We now invite all Christians to participate where ever they live.
Orphanage building, medical clinics, schoolrooms and churches have been established in Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador and Nicaragua since 1991. Each trip combines construction with crafts, games and songs for the 200 to 500 local children.
With the diversity of the level of involvement for each project, we are able to forms teams that include young children to older adults. (6 to 80+). We find that this mix adds to the wonderful dynamics of the group.
Team members are not expected to raise funds for the project, but they are to secure their own funds for their expenses which covers the individual's travel and accommodation costs.
