Our Goal and Mission Statement
Church Family Missions is a non-profit organization that provides the opportunity to travel to countries in Central America for short-term missions projects for approximately 14 days, once each year in the fall.
teams are made up of interested persons from the entire Christian Community, which work together and along with the national Chritians on a construction project and also provide a children's outreach with bible stories, songs, crafts and puppets.
Our ultimate goal is to bring Christians form the United States, the first world, together with those from Central America, the third world, to develop relationships and to support the national churches to reach the poor and lost in their own communities.
Our "Connections" in Califormia
"Missions to the Americas", a Christian organization that provides missionaries to assist local pastors with spiritual growth, and Steve Reed of "Partnership Ministries", who both believe in assisting the third world with their building and relational needs, assist us in provding a yearly project.
"Partnership" arranges the accomodations, meals and transportation while in the Central American country. While MTTA is the mission organization through which Partnersip works.
The directors organize the team, choose the project and arrange transportation for the team to the Central American country. They also take responsibility to raise the funds necessary for the construction project and the children's activities.
How Can You Be Involved?
Primarily, we welcome your participation. We plan our trips within the month of October. This is the end of the rainy season and we are able to accomplish more without the delays that heavy rains can cause. The cost is approximately $1500 and covers the individuals' transportation, accomodations, meals and two days of rest and reflection at the end of the project. Trips range from 10 to 14 days, dependant on the location and travel time. With your request for information we will put you on our mailing list so you will receive information about the yearly upcoming trips. These mailings are NOT for solicitation of funds but simply to provide future trip information.
Next, we welcome your prayer. We have found there can be little accomplished without spiritual strength and guidance. We began this organization based on our faith that this work is of importance to God and continue to base our serving Him on our faith in His will for all the people involved, both the Central American Nationals and the North American team members.
The last way to help is financial. All contributions are tax deductible. The cost for one construction project and children's activities is approximately $7000. We find that we are able to build a substantial and useful building for this unbelievable amount. Any contributions to this effort should be in check form to "Church Family Missions". Contribution letters are mailed to you in January of the following year.
